CCTV News:Five departments, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued an announcement on matters related to the implementation of the national six emission standards for automobiles.

In order to implement the Emission Limits and Measurement Methods of Light Vehicle Pollutants (China Phase VI) (GB 18352.6— 2016) and "Pollutant Emission Limits and Measurement Methods for Heavy Diesel Vehicles (China Phase VI)" (GB 17691— In 2018), the relevant policies to help enterprises bail out, stabilize and expand automobile consumption are implemented. The relevant matters concerning the nationwide full implementation of the National Sixth Emission Standard 6b for light vehicles and the National Sixth Emission Standard 6b for heavy diesel vehicles (hereinafter referred to as the National Sixth Emission Standard 6b) are announced as follows:

1. From July 1, 2023, the national sixth emission standard 6b stage will be fully implemented, and the production, import and sale of automobiles that do not meet the national sixth emission standard 6b stage will be prohibited. The production date is based on the vehicle manufacturing date of the motor vehicle certificate, and the electronic information of the certificate should be uploaded before 0: 00 on July 1, 2023; The date of import is based on the date of arrival of the goods import certificate; The date of sale shall be subject to the date of motor vehicle sales invoice.

Two, for some of the actual driving pollutant emission tests (that is, RDE test) report results as "monitoring only" and other light vehicles, give a half-year sales transition period, allowing sales until December 31, 2023.

Three, automobile production and import enterprises, as the main body responsible for the consistency management of environmental protection production, should disclose the vehicle emission inspection information and pollution control technical information before the vehicle leaves the factory or enters the country according to the relevant provisions of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Air Pollution Prevention Law, so as to ensure that the actually produced and imported vehicles meet the requirements. Relevant certification bodies shall issue compulsory product certification certificates according to the national six emission standards 6b stage.
