Baidu Encyclopedia launched the Star Project： covering 100,000 authoritative experts and 1 million professional entries.
On December 27th, Baidu Encyclopedia, together with China Association for Science and Technology and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, held a 100-word press conference of Historical Records 2024 Science Encyclopedia and the launching ceremony of "Stars Project". Seven popular science experts, including Li Yongle, a well-known popular science major, Lu Jing, a researcher at the Institute of vertebrate paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Cao Zexian, a researcher at the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a relay speech and presented a popular science feast.
At this conference, Baidu Encyclopedia launched the "Star Project", which fully empowers the authoritative science popularization of Baidu Encyclopedia with AI technologies such as digital people and agents and the billion-level accurate traffic of Baidu search. It is expected to cover 100,000 authoritative experts and cover more than 1 million knowledge content. The conference also announced the hottest and most concerned 100 scientific words in 2024, and keywords such as digital people, agents, geomagnetic storms, flaming clouds, MBTI and PUA were selected.
In addition, Wu Baojun, executive deputy secretary-general of University Association for Science and Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Rong Wei, head of Baidu Encyclopedia, respectively introduced the detailed progress of the construction project of "Popular Science China Science Encyclopedia" and interpreted the Star Project on the spot.
According to Rong Wei, the Star Project will fully empower authoritative knowledge popularization in terms of professional identification, editing privileges, technology sharing and accurate traffic. Baidu Encyclopedia will integrate Baidu AI technology, and help experts to make digital avatars free of charge through the entrance of Wenxin agent platform and other technologies, reducing costs, increasing production and making content easier and more authoritative. In addition, Baidu Encyclopedia will also be based on Baidu search, providing billion-level accurate traffic distribution and helping the universal benefit of knowledge. According to reports, the "Star Project" will cover 100,000 authoritative experts and cover more than 1 million knowledge content.
